How to improve your coffee at home.

The number one question people still ask me to this day is, "How do I make my coffee taste better at home?"

The first suggestion I make is to get a coffee grinder. In my opinion this is the most critical step in the coffee preparation process. After coffee is ground all the oils are exposed to air and the coffee starts to lose that flavor in just a matter of minutes. Coffee grinders have also become so popular now that many of the large retail stores carry quite a variety of grinders to fit the needs of most people.

Try grinding just enough coffee for what you plan on brewing and see if that improves your coffee quality at home.

Stay tuned as this is the first blog in a series of posts in which I will go over tips for improving your coffee experience at home.

New products for the holidays.

The holiday season is coming up quickly, and Cups is proud to offer a couple of new products for you.

This year we are offering a new organic coffee we are very proud of: Honduran organic.

I have just roasted my first batches of this coffee, and taste-tested the first round. It is fantastic. The flavor profile is very sharp and pronounced. It almost jumps out of the cup at you. The notes on it are very sweet, which is standard for an organic coffee, however it also has a nice nutty finish which is very unusual for organics. This coffee will be available to you on November 1st. Enjoy!

Also this year, Cups was able to obtain some Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. Considered one of the finest coffees in the world, and also very limited in supply and difficult to get. It's a very rich and bold flavor with a clean finish to the profile. Also please note that at Cups, we use 100% pure estate grown Jamaican, not a blend. We will be sending this coffee out to our stores a little closer to the holidays, packed in our vacuum sealed bags to keep it fresh.

Thanks for reading, more updates to come as the season continues.
